Many thanks to all those who joined us after Masses a few weeks ago and shared their ideas about partnering with ANEW Place to provide meals.
Here is a summary of those gatherings.
- Most were interested in having parishioners sign up to bring prepared food to the church once a month for someone to transport to ANEW Place.
- Though ANEW Place encourages folks to stay and share the meal with residents, most people said they did not have time and/or did not feel comfortable doing that.
- Past Salvation Army meal organizers have all said that finding people who were willing to deliver food was a pretty challenging part of their job.
- A suggestion was made that people who have experience with meal delivery be teamed up with folks who have never been, to ease discomfort.
- Another suggestion was to assemble two teams: one to provide food and another to deliver/visit with residents.
We have received confirmation from ANEW Place that our first meal will be provided on Tuesday, June 21. For more information contact Connie –

MercyCorps will be walking as a Team in this year's COTS Walk, May 1 at 2:00 PM. We will gather at Battery Park and walk the 3.5 mile loop back to the park (a shorter 1 mile route is also an option). There will be Ben & Jerry's waiting for us at the end!
We have a goal to raise $2500 for COTS. Please consider helping us meet that goal. Click here to sign up to join us and/or make your pledge today. Or contact Connie in the office at SJVGoodNews@gmail.com - 802-864-4166 x204
