Alpha is a series of interactive sessions to discuss life and faith in an informal, fun, and friendly environment. All are invited, no matter their background or beliefs. It is free, and there is no pressure to come back. Each of the sessions begins with a meal, followed by a brief video on a broad question of faith. Guests are encouraged to participate in a small group discussion and share their views on the topic.

Food has a way of bringing people together. It’s no different at Alpha. We start with a free dinner to encourage building community and to get to know each other.Then a Video
The videos are designed to engage and inspire conversation. Generally 30 minutes long, the videos explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as 'Who is Jesus?' and 'In today's world, how can we have faith?'Followed by Discussion
The discussion time is a chance to share thoughts and ideas on the evening’s topic in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything. There’s nothing you can’t say. It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your perspective in an honest, friendly, and open environment.Alpha FAQ
When and where is Alpha held?
We’re hosting Alpha at St John Vianney Parish Center on Fridays, from 6:15 to 8:30 pm.
We’ll meet for 12 sessions, starting on March 21. You don’t need to come every week, but you’ll get the most out of it if you do!What does Alpha cost?
Nothing! It’s free!Do I have to commit to coming every week?
You don’t need to commit to coming every week when you sign up. We recommend that you try it out for at least three weeks before you decide whether to continue or stop attending. It's also OK if you are unable to join us the first week or two.Do I need to register?
Registrations help our team with planning, so filling out the registration form ahead of time can insure we have enough food and meet people's dietary restrictions. You can click here, use one of the sign-up buttons prior to joining us, or we’d also be happy to get you signed up when you come to Alpha.
If you haven’t signed up for Alpha but you’re interested in attending a session or course with us, it's OK to come and join us regardless of whether or not you’ve registered.
